With upcoming entrants like the Honda Elevate and Citroen C3 Aircross, the compact SUV space is starting to get crowded. Currently, there are six SUVs on sale in this segment, with the exception of the Mahindra Scorpio operating in a niche of its own, which are priced somewhere from Rs 10 lakh to Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom). The Hyundai Creta is the best seller in this segment and its popularity is evident from the waiting period. You’ll have to wait around three months for the Creta to be parked in your garage. In several cities like Faridabad, Coimbatore, Ghaziabad, Surat, and Lucknow,, the wait time stretches up to and over six months.

The Maruti Grand Vitara commands a waiting period of around 3-4 months on an average. In Bengaluru, there’s absolutely no waiting period and in Surat, you can get the compact SUV in a month’s time. However, buyers in Delhi, Mumbai, Thane and Chandigarh could have to wait for around 6 or 7 months to take delivery.

The Toyota Hyryder is a rebadged version of the Grand Vitara but commands much more waiting than it. In cities like Faridabad, Thane, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Bengaluru, and Delhi, it might take around a year to reach your home. However, we believe that the highest delay is for the strong-hybrid variants and the regular petrol option might be available sooner.

The MG Astor is also readily available in Coimbatore, Kolkata, Pune, Hyderabad, Mumbai, and Bengaluru. Even besides that, the average wait time is around a month.

Booked MG Astor at bangalore.. went for PDI today and found the VIN to be Jan23.. so simply refused to go ahead. Later they offered me Mar2023 VIN. No extra discount, is this acceptable?
