Audi rumored to bring competitor to BMW X6

Audi is known to be a performer rendering only perfection, however the news has heated the market about its challenge to BMW X6. The German auto maker is geared up to manufacture a new crossover model against BMW X6.

As per a close associate Audi will christen the crossover as Audi Q6. It will be a five seator crossover which is rumored to be based around Porsche Cayenne and Volkswagen Toureg. In these two cars it uses a shorter wheelbase (2895 mm) version in the Volkswagen Group's based on Colorado platform in a long wheelbase (3000 mm) is used in Audi Q7.

The company officials when exhibited the car in the Geneva Auto show did not made an official statement. While Rupert Stadler the Audi honcho hinted in an interview that the German auto maker might think to develop a car model in between Audi Q5 and Audi Q7. He also said that it can be a coupe or a four wheel drive model.

It being highly speculated that Audi's decision to come with Audi Q6 is after receiving sufficient suggestions from Chinese and North American subsidiaries. As there lies a great demand for a mid size SUV. BMW X6 is making waves with its international sales since 2008 post its launch.

Audi is leaving no stone unturned, as the German auto company will introduce the car in the global auto markets in V6 and V8 diesel and petrol powertrain, alongwith V6 gasoline engine-electric motor hybrid drive choice which is similar to the one used by Porsche Cayenne Hybrids and Volkswagen Touareg.
