Audi Q1 and Audi Q4 probable after Audi Q3?
German car maker Audi could bring crossover SUVs Audi Q1 and Audi Q4 in the near future. The probability of these two crossover cars begun after Audi introduced Audi Q3, sources said. Reports suggest that Audi Q1 and Audi Q4 will be mini SUVs and will get a place in the line up below Audi Q3. Notably, Audi has a large four-door SUV named Audi Q7 as the segment senior followed by Audi Q5 and compact Audi Q3 in the SUV line up. It is believed that Audi is pitching in SUVs and increasing the segment line up so as to answer its competitor cars such as BMW X3, BMW X1. It is said that Audi Q5 was Audi’s answer to BMW X3. It is hoped that the new crossover Audi Q3 is expected to be in India towards the year end or early 2012. Once it hits the roads, it will be an option to BMW X1 that has almost dominated the segment for years now.

Based on current developments it can be said that after Audi Q3, Audi might further compact the series and introduce a smaller SUV based on the Audi A1 hatchback. Similarly, the Audi Q1 could be like Fiat Panda 4x4 which is more like a tall hatchback with all wheel drive. It is also rumored that Audi is also thinking aggressively on bringing a crossover named Audi Q4 on the lines of Porche Cajun. Interestingly, Porche Cajun is a two-door crossover and is also under development.

Once Audi brings these cars, the Audi line up will then increase to five SUVs and then there would be many choices for the segment customers. After these new SUVs by Audi enter India, the Indian premium SUV market will surely undergo a transformation. However, if the rumor proves to be true, it would take another two years for the cars to hit the road.
