Audi India continues to do well; Records 15% growth upto September
After grabbing the top-spot in the luxury car manufacturer's list, Audi India continued to do well in September as well despite the not-so-favorable market conditions. Selling a total 7391 units in the period January-September 2013, Audi recorded a growth of 15 percent. The products that contributed most in the overall sales were Audi Q3, Audi Q5 and Audi A4.
“We are pleased to have consolidated our No. 1 position in the luxury car industry. We are confident that we will be the first luxury car manufacturer in the country, to cross sales of 10,000 units in a calendar year. We continue with our expansion strategy on the product and network front, undeterred by the current market scenario. We have strengthened our product portfolio with new engines and exciting new features for the festive season which kicks in this month. We will also open three new dealerships in October,” said Mr. Joe King, Head, Audi India.
Audi India started the local assembly of its flagship SUV Audi Q3 recently, since it's the most in-demand product for the company. The company also introduced a more affordable version of the Q3 called the Q3 S during the last quarter. The company recorded a growth of 5 percent with a total sale of 2545 units in July-September 2013 period, with 965 units sold in September 2013.
“Our growing network footprint, expansion on the production front and refreshed product portfolio hold us in good stead for the year ahead, as we consolidate our leading position in India. We look forward to celebrating the upcoming festival season with the ever increasing Audi family in India,” added Mr. King.
