2025 Kia Carens Clavis EV To Debut On July 2025: Here’s Everything You Need To Know

Prices for the Kia Carens Clavis EV are expected to be out, after the debut of the electric MPV

Kia India’s latest press release for May 2025 states, ‘Carens Clavis makes a strong debut, setting the stage for the company’s next innovation in July.’ This hints at the debut of the Kia Carens Clavis EV in July 2025. The price announcement is expected to be made post its unveiling.

The electric version of the Carens Clavis has already been spied on overseas and on our shores, showing design similarities with its recently launched ICE version. If you’re interested in what could be the carmaker’s first mass-market electric MPV, here’s everything you need to know about it.

Kia Carens Clavis: Design

The Kia Carens Clavis EV is expected to feature a design closely similar to its ICE counterpart, albeit with some EV-specific tweaks to set it apart. 

It is expected to get a similar front fascia with a blanked-off grille, angular LED DRLs, and three-pod LED headlamps in a triangular housing. The Clavis EV will have its charging port mounted centrally on the front fascia as suggested by spy shots. One can also expect a revised front bumper to set it apart from its ICE sibling.

The side profile is also expected to remain unchanged, however, it will feature a different design for the alloys, probably with aero-specific covers. Other highlights such as the roof rails, body-coloured ORVMs, and rugged body cladding should be retained.

The connected LED tail lights with an illuminated light bar should be carried over. But once again, Kia could distinguish the Carens EV with a slightly tweaked rear bumper. 

Kia Carens Clavis: Interior And Features

The interior of the Kia Carens Clavis EV is also expected to be similar to the recently launched Kia Carens Clavis, albeit with a different colour scheme. The ICE version, for reference, features a dual-tone navy blue and beige colour scheme. Highlights such as a layered dashboard with a two-spoke steering wheel and dual 12.3-inch floating screens are expected to be on offer. Like the existing Clavis, one can expect it to be offered with both 6- and 7-seater configurations. 

It can also get additional amenities such as a digital key and fully powered front seats, with the co-passenger side featuring electrically adjustable boss mode. The captain seat variant could also come with ventilation in the middle row to boost comfort levels.  

Other features like a panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting, ventilated and powered seats, and a 9-speaker Bose sound system can also be carried onto it. Safety wise it should get six airbags, a 360-degree camera, and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). On top of these, the Carens Clavis EV could also offer electric vehicle-specific features like vehicle-to-load (V2L) and vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) technology.

Kia Carens Clavis: Powertrain

The Kia Carens electric is expected to come with multiple battery pack options along with a claimed range of 400-500 km. Specific details are yet to be officially revealed by the carmaker.

Kia Carens Clavis: Price & Rivals

The Kia Carens Clavis EV is expected to be priced from around Rs 16 lakh (ex-showroom). Its closest competitor would be the BYD eMax 7. The Clavis EV can also be considered an electric alternative to the Toyota Innova Hycross and Maruti Invicto.
