The Volvo V60 Plug-in Hybrid – Another world-first from Volvo Car Corporation
Time for the luxury hunters to cheer as 2011 Geneva Motor Show will bring to them the all exclusive Volvo V60 Plug-in Hybrid from the Luxury inventor Volvo. The car is not just a good news for luxury seekers but also the environment conscious fellows as it offers carbon dioxide emissions below 50 g/km and mileage of 1.9 l per100 km.
The revolutionary hybrid technology used in the luxury barge is the result of combined efforts of Swedish energy supplier Vattenfall and Volvo. The stunning Volvo V60 Plug-in Hybrid encircles the top qualities of three different type of cars. The luxury dip is built to offer 50 km drive on pure electricity.
On the big announcement, Stefan Jacoby who is the President and CEO of Volvo Cars commented that Volvo V60 is the second-generation hybrid car fitted with many high end technologies which makes it the best option for hose who seek for carbon dioxide-lean car packed with enhanced driving experience.
The superior technology imbibed car comes with 5 cylinder 2.4-litre D5 turbodiesel engine capable of producing 215 horsepower and peak torque of 440 Nm. The rear axle of Volvo V60 sports ERAD (Electric Rear Axle Drive) in the form of an electric motor which is capable of producing 70 horsepower. The power is supplied from 12 kWh lithium-ion battery pack. The engine is mated with a six-speed automatic transmission.
Stefan Jacoby also said that with a view to get car aficionados think green, the company has offered them with a low carbon dioxide emissions car which also satisfies all luxury hunger at the same time. He also said that the model is made far more interesting and attractive by including traditional properties of a genuine sports wagon.
