JLR's special division to unveil a new model at the Goodwood festival
After the formation of a new special operational division last week, Jaguar Land Rover has now made an announcement for the introduction of a new model established under the division. Now, the British auto major has made an announcement that the first new model developed by the division will be displayed on the company's podium at the 2014 Goodwood Festival of Speed next week.

A high-performance Range Rover Sport will also be making its debut at the festival. Tata owned-British manufacturer will also display an extensive collections of its past, present and forthcoming models. The D-Type, XJS TWR and XJR-9 and two of the company's historic D-type models will also be making their way to the festival. The event also marks the 60th anniversary of the classic D-Types. And the 1954 model prototype will be showcased while the 1956 Long Hood or Nose model will be driven by the ace F1 driver Bruno Senna. Apart from this, Jaguar's Group 44 E-type, the Group-A XJS TWR and the 1988 Le Mans-winning XJR-9 LM will also be making their ways at the 2014 Goodwood Festival.
The department is headed by Mr. John Edwards and will produce high specification vehicles showcasing the brands’ high performance derivatives, ultra luxury products and limited run collector editions.
While speaking about Jaguar Land Rover Special Operation, the man who leads the division John Edwards said, “We’ve been working on this for nine months. It’s an area we didn’t really engage with before. As a business, we are completely focused on enhancing and personalising the relationship our most discerning and enthusiastic customers have with our brands. By creating a Special Operations division we can harness the very best talent and expertise Jaguar Land Rover has – to deliver exceptional products and services our customers will love for life.”
Paul Newsome will be the director of the company's special vehicle operations and will lead a team of expert professionals. The department will be creating flagships- high-end luxury to out-an-out performance products. The manufacturer has also made an investment for a new Technical Centre, located in the West Midlands, United Kingdoms for the delivery of these cars. Along with this, a new heritage vehicle workshop is under construction at the Browns Lane in Coventry, which will produce the recently announced lightweight E-Type recreations.
