Hondas Brio Based SUV in the works?
Honda India, the fastest growing car manufacturer in India is reportedly working on its next Brio based iteration, a compact SUV. Consequently, it will be stacked against the likes of Ford EcoSport and Renault Duster. There is also fair amount of possibility that this fabled compact SUV could be present in one of Honda’s plant in India. Probably at the Tapukara (Rajasthan) unit closely guarded by some secrecy level or maybe in its hometown, Japan.

As it is known that the compact SUV segment deals largely with 5 seats it is believed that Honda may offer this one in seven seater as option or even standard. It makes sense, because Mobilio that is based on Brio is also a seven seater. And the Japanese manufacturer won't hesitate to share Mobilio’s base for this compact SUV. While the 1.5 litre i-Vtec petrol and i-Dtec diesel could power it. Then there would be the SUV ingredients like body cladding, large wheels, skid plates a raised ground clearance and the insides are expected to be non Brio-ish or Amaze-ish or Mobilio-ish, as they are all same.
It is expected to make its first appearance at the 2016 Indian Auto Expo and the launch could take place further down the year. As it will be manufactured here it will be ideally priced close to its competition.
