You Can Now Check Out The Kia Carens Clavis EV At Pan-India Dealerships

The Kia Carens Clavis EV, the Korean carmaker's most affordable electric offering in India, has now started arriving at dealerships across the country. It is being offered in three broad variants: HTK Plus, HTX, and HTX Plus, with introductory prices ranging from Rs 17.99 lakh to Rs 24.49 lakh (ex-showroom, pan-India). We have received images of the fully-loaded HTX Plus variant from our dealership sources and here’s a detailed look at everything this top-spec trim has to offer.

Exterior

The 2025 Kia Carens Clavis EV borrows many design elements from the fossil fuel-powered Carens Clavis that was launched in May 2025. It retains the closed-off grille and triangular LED headlights but adds EV-specific touches that help it stand out. These include a full-width LED light bar that connects the LED DRLs, a charging port integrated into the blanked-off grille, and active air flaps on the bumper that improve aerodynamics while helping cool the electrical components, similar to what is seen on the Hyundai Creta Electric. It also features pixel-shaped fog lamps, which are not offered on the ICE version.

From the side, the Carens Clavis EV keeps its rugged look with roof rails and black cladding on the wheel arches that runs along the length of the car. It also gets a new set of 17-inch aerodynamically designed alloy wheels that are different from the ones offered on the ICE model. At the back, the connected LED tail lamps have been carried over, but the EV version adds a new high-mounted stop lamp for a more modern and cleaner appearance.

Interior

Inside, the Carens Clavis EV shares much of its layout with the ICE-powered version, including the dashboard design, 2-spoke steering wheel, and twin-screen setup. However, it gets a dual-tone white and grey interior, a colour scheme usually seen only in the lower variants of the ICE model, giving the EV a lighter and more premium feel. 

Unlike the ICE version, which is available in both six- and seven-seat configurations, the Clavis EV comes exclusively as a seven-seater. All seats are equipped with adjustable headrests, three-point seatbelts, and leatherette upholstery.

Features And Safety

Being the top-spec variant, the HTX Plus trim of the Kia Carens Clavis EV comes packed with features. Highlights include a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system that supports wired Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and a similar-sized digital driver’s display. However, both these screens feature EV-specific displays. Other features include an 8-speaker Bose sound system, an automatic AC with dedicated vents for rear seat passengers, a panoramic sunroof, a 4-way powered driver’s seat, ventilated front seats and a wireless phone charger.

In terms of safety, it is equipped with 6 airbags (as standard), a 360-degree camera with blind spot monitor, a tyre pressure monitoring system, hill start assist, hill descent control, an electronic stability control (ESC) and front and rear parking sensors. It also gets a Level-2 advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) suite with features like collision avoidance assist and safe exit warning.

Powertrain Options

The Kia Carens Clavis EV comes with two battery pack options, details of which are as follows:

Notably, the top-spec HTX Plus variant is available only with the larger 51.4 kWh battery pack option.

Price And Rivals

Prices of the 2025 Kia Carens Clavis EV range between Rs 17.99 lakh and Rs 24.49 lakh (introductory ex-showroom, pan-India). It is a direct rival to the BYD eMax 7 and serves as an all-electric alternative to the Toyota Innova Hycross, Toyota Innova Crysta and Maruti Invicto. It can also be considered an option to the Hyundai Creta Electric, Tata Curvv EV, MG ZS EV and Mahindra BE 6.
