  • The Maruti eVX test mule was seen at an EV charging station.

  • Only the side and rear are visible in the latest spy shots, but the heavy camouflage reveals nothing new.

  • Based on the previous spy shot, the eVX will also feature a 360-degree camera.

  • The eVX will use a 60 kWh battery pack which will offer a claimed range of 550 km.

  • It is expected to be priced from Rs 25 lakh (ex-showroom) onwards.

The Maruti eVX, which made its debut at the 2023 Auto Expo in January as a concept, appears to be making strong headway towards becoming a production-ready model. The automaker has initiated testing of this electric SUV in India, and we have some fresh spy images of the Maruti eVX test mule.

What We Saw

While still heavily camouflaged, the test mule of the Maruti eVX was spotted as it was being charged at a charging station. The test mule was seen featuring a set of 10-spoke alloy wheels and makeshift taillights at the rear. We also got a little glimpse of its fascia as well with a temporary headlight setup. The previous sightings have also revealed that the eVX will feature a 360-degree camera.

How It Will Look From The Inside

The interior of the India-spec Maruti eVX hasn’t been spied yet, but Suzuki has revealed the cabin design of the evolved version of the concept. The highlight of the cabin includes an integrated display setup (for infotainment and instrument cluster), vertically aligned AC vent design, a distinctive 2-spoke steering wheel resembling a yoke, and a rotary dial serving as a drive-mode selector.

Battery And Range

Though Maruti hasn’t revealed much about the performance specifications of the eVX electric SUV, the carmaker confirmed that it will be equipped with a 60 kWh battery pack for a claimed range of up to 550 km. Maruti also confirmed that the eVX will get a dual-motor setup for an all-wheel drive option.

Expected Launch Rivals

The Maruti eVX is expected to be launched in India by 2025 with a starting price of less than Rs 25 lakh (ex-showroom). It will take on the MG ZS EV, Hyundai Kona Electric, and the upcoming Tata Curvv EV, and it can also be regarded as a premium alternative to the Tata Nexon EV and Mahindra XUV400 EV.
