Volkswagen to bring new 800cc small car in India, Brazil and China
The German car maker Volkswagen is all set to launch small cars in India, China and Brazil. Volkswagen has created a mark in Indian auto market with its smaller cars like Polo. Volkswagen admits that the small cars fetch good business in the domestic market and also bring good profits. The company is planning to continue this pattern by introducing new small car in the Asian markets like India, China and Brazil. This small car will be based on UP! platform. The company officials have not disclosed any details yet regarding the car and the launch date of the new car. But rumours suggest that the car could be launched next year after it is unveiled at the Paris Grand Palais, Champs Elysees, Paris. So we have to wait for another year to see the new model from this German car maker.

There is a huge demand for small cars in China and Brazil as well. Volkswagen will be launching the small car in all three nations by next year in diesel and petrol versions. The petrol variant will be fitted with 800 cc engine and the diesel version will be powered with a 1.2 litre engine. Volkswagen has made huge investments in India and seeks India to be a global manufacturing hub for Volkswagen, as the labor and other resources come at a very reasonable cost. Volkswagen will get a stiff competition from competitors like Maruti and Hyundai, in small car segment. Volkswagen had acquired about 19 percent stake in Suzuki Motors, to create dominance over Asian market. Volkswagen is aiming to acquire about 10 percent market share in India by 2018 and also eyes to become one of the world’s largest auto manufacturer.
