Volkswagen Group Delivers 10.14 Million Vehicles worldwide in 2014 for the first time!

The German Behemoth records 4.2 percent profit, rolled out 10.14 million units in January-December-2014 for the first time!

Seem like 2014 was the year of setting records, several automakers have created new milestones when it comes to sales. On the same lines, one of the world's largest auto conglomerations, VW has set a new record of selling more than 10 million vehicles in the last calendar year, registering a profit of 4.2 percent.

Prof. Dr. Martin Winterkorn, Chairman of the Board of Management of Volkswagen Aktiengesellschaft, commented, “In 2014, our Group delivered over ten million vehicles in total to customers, ranging from the e-up!* city car to heavy commercial vehicles. That is impressive confirmation we are vigorously implementing our Strategy 2018 despite challenging market conditions. We are also making good progress with our other main goals – return on sales, customer satisfaction and top employer.”

Volkswagen Passenger Cars

VW has delivered 6.12 million vehicles last year (January-December-2014). Compared to decade back - 2004 sales, VW deliveries have almost doubled in 2014. And indeed this was the first time that the company rolled out 6.12 million vehicle in a single year.

Audi

Audi registers 10.5 percent profit in last calendar year, delivering 1.74 (1.58) million vehicles to customers worldwide in 2014.

Škoda

Škoda delivered in excess of one million units worldwide in the period from January to December 2014, that too for the first time just like VW. The Czech Republic automaker registers an year-on-year increase of 12.7 percent.

Porsche

Porsche has rolled out 189,800 sports cars' in the period of January-December 2014.

Seat

Seat delivered 390,500 cars globally in the period January-December 2014, registering a profit of 10.0 percent.

Commercial Vehicles

Speaking of the behemoth's three commercial brands - MAN, Scania and Volkswagen Commercial, they delivered 646,50 vehicles in the period - January-December 2014 with a slight loss of 5.4 percent compared to the same period in 2013 - 683,200.

Group Board member for Sales, Christian Klingler commented: “Our Group has doubled vehicle deliveries in the last ten years. That is an outstanding performance and an impressive result, and all Group brands have played their part in achieving this despite at times very difficult market conditions.”
