Thailand-spec Ford Endeavour Given A Mild Update. Is It India-bound?

A recent update for the India-spec Ford Endeavour (sold as Everest in Thailand and Australia) came in the form of a special edition Sport variant. The Thai-spec SUV has now been mildly updated and gets the Sport variant’s honeycomb grille with chrome inserts.
As per Ford, the update came about as a result of customers’ preference for the Sport variant’s honeycomb grille over the slatted one offered on the standard model. Along with the updated grille, the Thai-spec SUV also comes with a much bolder Everest badge on its bonnet and chrome ORVM housings and door handles. Ford has also introduced two colours on the SUV: Snow Flake White Pearl for Trend, Titanium and Titanium+ variants; and Deep Crystal Blue for the Titanium Sport.
The standard India-spec Endeavour is offered with three chrome slats in its front grille.
The Thai-spec Endeavour features no mechanical changes or updates in the cabin. Ford offers the higher-specced variants of the SUV with a 2.0-litre twin-turbo diesel engine that puts out 213PS and 500Nm. Its lower variants get the same engine, albeit with just a single turbo like the India-spec model, and is good for 170PS and 420Nm. Both the country-specific models are equipped with a 10-speed AT gearbox.
We expect Ford to update the India-spec SUV with these changes as the Endeavour is brought to India as a completely knocked down (CKD) unit from Thailand. Ford sells the SUV from Rs 29.99 lakh to Rs 35.10 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). It rivals the Toyota Fortuner, Honda CR-V, VW Tiguan Allspace, Mahindra Alturas G4 and MG Gloster.
