The Tata Nexon facelift has finally broken cover after being spied testing under wraps for a long time. It will be sold in four broad variants: Smart, Pure, Creative and Fearless. While recent spy shots had already given away the new design, this is our first detailed look at the new face of India’s current best-selling subcompact SUV. Tata will be revealing the variant-wise prices of the new Nexon on September 14 and is expected to bring out the updated Nexon EV on the same day as well.

Exterior Revisions In Plenty

Tata’s updated sub-4m SUV now sports a sleeker front design, which includes a new grille and revised LED DRLs. The front bumper has also been redesigned to incorporate vertically stacked LED headlights, with fresh accents in the lower portion. The only main update on the SUV's sides is the alloy wheel design.

Revisions at the rear include a fresh set of connected LED taillights and a refreshed styling for the tailgate. All these updates will also be applied to the Nexon EV, which will further get specific blue highlights and closed-off panels, as is typical for electric vehicles.

Gets New Design Touches On The Inside Too

Tata will offer the Nexon facelift with a redesigned dashboard and a new 2-spoke flat-bottom steering wheel akin to the one seen on the Curvv, with a lit-up Tata logo in the centre. The climate control panel is not just backlit, but also operated by touch inputs for a more modern interface.

The carmaker has also given the SUV’s cabin a fresh styling and upholstery which will feature different colour schemes depending on the variant and exterior colour.

Tata will also provide it with automatic climate control, wireless phone charging, ventilated and height adjustable front seats, and cruise control. The new Nexon also packs a 9-speaker JBL sound system including a subwoofer and Harman enhanced AudioworX.

A particularly cool functionality of the new digital driver’s display is that it can also display the navigation, just like the digital clusters found in luxury cars.
