The base-spec XM variant continues to be priced at Rs 13.99 lakh while the prices of the mid-spec XZ+ and top-spec XZ+ LUX have shot up by Rs 26,000. Even with the price hike, the Nexon EV remains the most affordable electric vehicle on sale in the Indian market with over 300km certified range. The other two long-range EVs are the MG ZS EV and Hyundai Kona Electric priced from Rs 20.88 lakh to Rs 23.58 lakh and Rs 23.75 lakh to Rs 23.94 lakh respectively.

Tata offers the Nexon EV with a 129PS/245Nm electric motor and a 30.2kWh battery pack with a range of 312km on a full charge. It can be juiced up from 0 to 80 percent through a DC fast charger in 60 minutes while a 3.3kW AC home fast charger can power it to 100 per cent in 8 hours. It also gets two driving modes: Drive and Sport.

The carmaker is also offering the Nexon EV at reduced subscription rates until November 30, 2020. To know more about the tenures and their rates, head here. Its prices now range from Rs 13.99 lakh to Rs 16.25 lakh. While it competes with the MG ZS EV and Hyundai Kona Electric, it will have a direct rival in the form of the Mahindra XUV300 Electric that will arrive sometime in 2021. In other news, the transport wing of the Delhi government has decided to exempt EVs from road tax thereby making the EVs including the electrified Nexon more affordable.
