The Skoda Vision IN will be launched before its VW counterpart, the Taigun, by mid-2021

  • Skoda Vision IN spotted undergoing routine testing for the first time.

  • Skoda is yet to finalise a market name for the Vision IN SUV.

  • It will get all-LED lighting, 10.1-inch touchscreen, and 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster.

  • Engine options are 1.0-litre TSI and 1.5-litre TSI turbo-petrol units.

  • It will rival the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos and Nissan Kicks.

Skoda is up and running to get its compact SUV, the Vision IN, to the market by the promised mid-2021 timeline. The SUV has now been spied undergoing tests for the first time since it was showcased earlier this year. The production-spec SUV will bear a name different from the Vision IN.

The side profile image doesn’t reveal much but enough to tell you it looks a lot like the Vision IN concept. According to the images, it will get split LED headlamps with DRLs, alloy wheels (~ 17 inches) that reveal decent-sized disc brakes, ORVMs with turn indicators, big windows, and roof rails. Though not visible in this pic, the Vision IN will get Skoda lettering on the tailgate and LEDs for tail lamps.

Based on the MQB A0 IN, the Vision IN will be manufactured at Skoda-VW’s Pune and Aurangabad plants and seems like its trial production is already underway. It will be a petrol-only offering expected to offer choices of a 1.0-litre TSI (110PS/175Nm) and 1.5-litre TSI (147PS/250Nm) engines. The smaller engine will get a 6-speed manual as well as automatic while the bigger unit will be paired with a 7-speed DSG.

Skoda Vision IN Concept Revealed. 2021 Production SUV To Take On Kia Seltos, Hyundai Creta

To survive in a ruthless compact SUV segment, the Skoda Vision IN is likely to be loaded with features to the brim. Expect VW Group’s latest 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment unit, 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, electronic parking brake, and, of course, a panoramic sunroof as well.

The Skoda Vision IN will try to eat into the share of Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Nissan Kicks and its own stablemate, the Volkswagen Taigun. Expect prices to range between Rs 10 lakh and Rs 16 lakh.
