Skoda India is all set to equip its Superb sedan with Dynamic Chassis Control (DCC) by next year. This system is currently deployed in all international models of the Superb.

DCC has a very important role in the ride and handling section of cars equipped with it. Once operational, it retunes the transmission response, engine settings, steering weight, suspension damper settings as per the three driving modes available – Comfort, Normal and Sport.

Launched in February this year, the Indian-spec Superb too boasts these three modes; however, switching to a particular mode doesn’t alter damper settings presently. To get this function working, the Czech carmaker is planning to incorporate DCC on the Superb very soon. Once added the already value for money Superb will become more desirable as it gets more comfortable.

Skoda India didn’t launch the DCC installed version of the Superb in February as the addition of DCC demanded more time and money which Skoda couldn’t afford, and hence planned this version’s launch at a later stage. The existing Superb comes with rough-road suspension package having raised ground clearance.

The Superb is offered in five trims in the country with their prices falling between Rs 23 – 31 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). Powering the D segment sedan is a 1.8 litre TSI petrol and a 2.0 litre TDI diesel engine, with the former generating 180PS of power and the latter, 177PS.
