Audi TT Sportback is basically the new TT with five doors. Though a concept, the TT Sportback gets close to production design elements in it and according to Dr. Ulrich Hackenburg, it could potentially be a model of TT lineup. Compared with the new TT, the TT Sportback is 29 cm longer, 6 cm wider and has a 12 cm larger wheelbase and is shorter by 3 cm. Featuring a Mars red paintwork, the Audi Sportback gets a 2.0 TFSI engine that makes 400 hp.

The exterior of the TT Sportback is highlighted by distinctive horizontal lines with large air intakes in the front, newly designed laser LED headlights with separators, unique daytime running lights, LED rear lights, flat C pillar and a Sportback line, like the A5 and A7 model series. The interior mimic the new TT’s cabin with Audi virtual cockpit, the digital instrument cluster, replaces the conventional physical displays and the central MMI monitor.

The instrument panel and the upper area of the door trims are dark granite gray in color while the door armrests, the center console and the seats use new soft leather in parchment beige. The door top shoulder is upholstered in Alcantara, parchment beige with the seat upholstery featuring a diamond pattern. The side bolsters of the seats are trimmed with special accent strips in dark gray leather that are fixed with red thread using a special stitching technique.

Powering the Audi TT Sportback is a 2.0 TFSI four-cylinder engine, generating 400 hp at 6,400 rpm and 450 Nm of torque between 2,400 and 6,000 rpm, with over 300 Nm already available at just 1,900 rpm. The high-performance engine limits fuel consumption to an average of 7.0 liters per 100 kilometers and CO2 emissions to 162 grams per kilometer. The power is fed to the Quattro permanent all-wheel drive through the 7-speed S tronic automatic transmission. The Audi TT Sportback can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.9 seconds.

"With the TT, Audi created one of the automotive design icons of the last 20 years," says Prof. Dr. Ulrich Hackenberg, Audi Board Member for Technical Development. "In the years since, we have designed our sporty and elegant five‑door Audi A5 Sportback* and Audi A7 Sportback*. In our Audi TT Sportback concept show car, we are now fusing both concepts to form a new member of a potential TT family."
