Over 23000 bookings for new Honda City in 2 months
Honda that launched the new generation City sedan on December 7, 2013, has received an overwhelming response from buyers across the nation. The company has bagged over 23,000 bookings within two months of its launch. Moreover, it helped Honda register its best sales figure since it entered the Indian car market.
Speaking on the response for the new Honda City, Jnaneshwar Sen Sr. Vice President Marketing and Sales, Honda Cars India said, “Indian buyers have grabbed the new Honda City with both hands implying that until 5th of this month, we have recorded over 23,000 bookings already for this growing model”.
In January, the company delivered over 7000 units of the City sedan in India, which made the City India’s top-selling mid-sized sedan. For the first time, Honda City is being offered in both petrol and diesel guise. While the petrol version has the tried and tested 1.5-litre i-VTEC engine, the diesel version sports 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel engine. Interestingly, Honda City is the country’s most fuel efficient car with a fuel economy of 26kmpl.
