Mercedes-Benz rolls out 30,000th locally assembled car in India
Mercedes Benz, the German luxury car maker rolled out the 30,000th locally manufactured car. Dr. Wilfried Aulbur, MD and CEO of Mercedes Benz crowned the logo of the company on a shining black new E350CDI at the manufacturing facility in Chakan, Pune, in front of the leadership team present there.

The company also registered an Y-o-Y growth of 86 per cent and has now planned to build its own technologically forward paint shop bearing water based painting. The same would begin operations in the later half of the year 2012 with an yearly capacity of 20,000 units which can be taken upto 40,000 units annually. Inclusive of the heavy investment in the paint shop, Mercedes Benz total investment towards the Chakan plant has resulted over Rs. 600 crores.
Mercedes Benz also began the second shift in the manufacturing facility and has planned on increasing the portfolio of domestically manufactured cars besides S, E and C Class beginning from 2013.
