Mercedes to launch new cars in India
To make the most of the ongoing growth momentum and to maintain its top position in the Indian market, Mercedes-Benz India is aggressively planning to launch its new cars in India. In addition to this, the company is also ready to start a second shift at its facility in India so that it can have an upper hand over its competitors like BMW and Audi. To provide both the car and finance at a single window to its customers, the company is planning to launch its car finance business in the country which will include finance for both new and used Mercedes cars in India.
According to an estimate, the luxury car market in India is expected to grow at the rate of 50 percent this year and the leading luxury car makers are leaving no stone unturned in fully capitalizing on this high growth opportunity.
Mr Debashis Mitra, Director (Sales and Marketing) at Mercedes Benz India said in a statement, given to a leading media group, that, the company has mapped various segments and will be launching new models in the vacant slots. He added that Mercedes will be launching a luxury sports utility vehicle (SUV) and models under performance segment. In the last seven months, the company has launched 16 products. While elaborating the overall growth of the luxury car segment, he said that it will continue to outperform the overall car market sales this year as well. It is expected that the concerned segment would log around 50 percent growth this year while the standard car segment is likely to clock mere 20 percent growth.
In the first half of this year, the company has sold 1023 units of Mercedes Benz E Class, 995 units of Mercedes Benz C-Class, 226 units of Mercedes Benz S-Class, 93 units of Mercedes Benz M-Class and 47 units of Mercedes Benz GL-Class.
