Maruti to install KB Series engines in entry level, A segment cars

Maruti India is planning to install its latest KB Series engines in all entry level and A segment cars. This KB series engine was launched last year and it follows the latest emission norms. Mr. R C Bhargava, Maruti India's Chairman said that the plan will be executed in a phased manner for entry level cars. It may take a period of next 3-5 years. At present, the company is installing KB series engine in only latest models like Maruti Ritz, Maruti A-Star and Maruti Zen Estilo.

The investment in this project would be disclosed by October this year. The KB Series mills are being produced at company's Gurgaon plant only. It has an installed annual capacity of 240,000 engines. The plant at the Gurgaon facility will be gradually changed to a base for engine assembly and machining, while the automobile assembly will be integrated at Manesar.
