Maruti Suzuki marks 26.9% hike in sales 2010

Maruti Suzuki, the Indian car market leader showed a commendable progress in the year 2010, the time when Indian Auto market was on its highest swing. The company is known to bring world class technology in its cars which is the major reason of its popularity in Indian Auto market. Maruti Suzuki announced a growth of 26.9% in the sales for the year 2010. The market leader was able to register a total sales of 99,225 units in Dec 2010 including exports of 9756 units. The sales in domestic market touched a mark of 71,000 units in Dec 2009.

A remarkable hike of 23.5% was observed in the A2 segment which include the ever favourite models- Maruti Alto, Maruti Wagon-R, Maruti Estilo, Maruti Swift, Maruti A-Star and Maruti Ritz. The A3 segment also registered a growth of 19.4% which include Maruti SX4 and Maruti Dzire. A maximum growth of 67.4% was marked in the C segment which encircles Maruti Omni, Maruti Versa and Maruti Eeco.

The company was able to mark this tremendous growth apart from the fact that the company was closed down for complete 6 days in the month of December 2010.

Coming to A1 segment of Maruti Suzuki which includes Maruti 800, it faced a scroll down of 30.1%. the overall passenger car segment of Maruti Suzuki faced a remarkable growth of 25.9% by selling 696923 units in year 2010 as against 553714 units sold in year 2009.

The Multi Utility vehicles of Maruti Suzuki which encircles Maruti Gypsy and Maruti Grand Vitara, marked a growth of 4.2% in the month of Dec 2010 by selling 270 units as against 259 units sold in same period in 2009.

the yearly exports of the company showed a remarkable growth of 1.7% during the year 2010 by exporting 107315 units as against 107315 units in year 2009. but if we look at the December performance of the company, Maruti Suzuki exports took a low swing of 29.3% as December 2010 marked export of 9756 units as against 13804 units exported in the same period in 2009.
