  • The XUV400 entered the market in January 2023.

  • It has received around 23,000 bookings so far, only around 4,000 units delivered. 

  • It commands a waiting period of around six months. 

  • Deliveries of the top-spec EL variant are prioritized, base variant to be dispatched from Diwali. 

  • It gets 34.5kWh and 39.4kWh battery pack options with a range of 375 kilometres and 456 kilometres, respectively. 

  • Rivals the Tata Nexon EV Max and Prime. 

Mahindra, at its FY23 results press meeting, confirmed the open bookings for several of its models. In the case of the Mahindra XUV400 all-electric SUV, the waiting period is around six months from the date.

The carmaker (as reported on May 1) has claimed around 23,000 bookings for the XUV400, since launch. Around 4,000 units have been delivered to the customers by that date, which accounts for around 18 per cent of the total bookings.

The prices for the XUV400 were revealed in mid-January 2023 with bookings open from the 26th, and deliveries commenced from May-end. The SUV maker is prioritising the deliveries of the top-spec long-range EL variants first, while the base-spec EC trim dispatches will start from Diwali.

The electric XUV gets two battery pack options - 34.5kWh and 39.4kWh. The smaller pack (EC variant) claims a range of up to 375 kilometres, while the bigger one (EL variant) claims up to 456 kilometres. Both the variants get the same single electric motor setup, which is rated at 150PS and 310Nm. 

The XUV400 features a seven-inch touchscreen system, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, push button start stop, an electric sunroof, up to six airbags, electronic stability control, and a rear camera. It’s still priced from Rs 15.99 lakh to Rs 18.99 lakh (ex-showroom) and expected to get pricier soon, while rivalling the likes of Tata Nexon EV Max and Prime.
