Mahindra W201 sneaked in Pune
According to reliable sources, Mahindra & Mahindra ltd., India's premier utility vehicle (UV) company known for making revolutionary SUVs like the Mahindra Scorpio and Mahindra Bolero is going to launch its flagship SUV which is code named “Mahindra W201” soon this year.

As per reports, the SUV was spotted taking the road test in Pune where it was scooped by onlookers. Furthermore, if rumors are to be believed then this Mahindra & Mahindra’s SUV is spacious and powerful as compared to other products of Mahindra Auto i.e. Mahindra Scorpio and Mahindra Xylo.
With company planning to launch Mahindra W201 in America, Europe and Asia, the SUV is going to experience tough competition from Toyota Innova, Chevrolet Tavera along with Tata Safari. Furthermore as Mahindra W201 Price is still not revealed by company, it is expected to hold the price tag of Rs 15-16 lakhs in India.
It is said that the 2011 Mahindra W201 is being manufactured at the Chakan plant near Pune. Expected to come affixed with 2.2 L mHawk CRDi engine, the SUV is going to be a blend of power and performance. Currently the same engine is used in Mahindra Scorpio which drive power of 136 bhp and 320 Nm of torque. Also, Mahindra W201 is expected to deliver mileage of 12kmpl on highways and 8kmpl in cities.
As per reports, Mahindra W201 is going to come fitted with six-speed transmission and later an automatic version will be rolled out by the company. It is also said that the SUV will incorporate ABS (anti-lock braking system), EBD (electronic brakeforce distribution system), Cruise control, parking sensors etc. and will accommodate 7 passengers in total.
President of Mahindra’s Auto division, Pawan Goenka said that the company is planning to launch Mahindra W201 SUV in first financial quarter of 2011.
