Mahindra Quanto to Launch in South Africa Soon
The leading Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) maker, Mahindra & Mahindra that already sells its flagship vehicles the Scorpio and the XUV500 in South Africa, is now all set to launch the newly launched compact MUV, the Quanto there. Launched back in September 2012, Mahindra Quanto compact SUV has been doing pretty good for the company here in the domestic market, and the company expects to repeat the same in South Africa.

Mahindra & Mahindra also sells the Xylo, Scorpio pick-up and the Genio in South Africa, the Quanto will join the long range of M&M's utility vehicle in the country. The South Africa bound Quanto will be same as the Indian version of the vehicle, it will have the same 1.5-litre 3-cylinder diesel twin-turbo engine. Mated to a five-speed manual gearbox, the engine churns out the maximum power output of 100bhp and 240Nm of torque.
The Quanto shares the platform and design with the Xylo, but looks moderately better than the sibling. Despite being smaller in dimensions, the Quanto can accommodate five adults and 2 kids having the two jump seats in the rear. The company hasn't disclosed the pricing and the exact launch date for the Africa bound vehicle as of now, so we will update on the same, as soon as we hear from them. Stay tuned, cheers!
