Mahindra Quanto to be Priced at Rs 4.75 lakh; Launch on 20th September

As CarDekho earlier reported that the Indian automotive giant Mahindra Mahindra is all set to launch its much awaited compact SUV, the Quanto on 20th September, now the latest update coming in is about its price that most were only speculating till now. The Quanto will be priced at Rs 4.75 lakh making it one of the cheapest Compact SUVs available in India. The sub-4 meter vehicle will not only battle with the small SUVs but having such an exciting price, it will get competitive advantage over many hatchbacks and utility vehicles as well.

Earlier known as Mini Xylo, the Quanto will house a 1.5-litre diesel engine, which is said to be the downsized version of the popular 2.2-litre mHawk turbo diesel engine that currently powers many of the Mahindra vehicles. What has helped the vehicle to be priced so competitive is its sub-4 meter length, which qualifies it to avail the lower excise duty.

As we have already mentioned that the vehicle is not just going to compete against the compact crossovers but many diesel hatchbacks too, however the closest competitors of the upcoming Quanto will be newly launched Renault Duster and yet to launch Ford EcoSport. When it comes to the fuel economy, there are speculations that the vehicle will be able to return an impressive 18kmpl of mileage, and we are sure that having all these plus points, it will surely create the history for Mahindra Mahindra.
