Made in India Renault Duster to be Sold Internationally
French automaker, Renault that launched its maiden compact SUV, the Duster in India is now planning to export the vehicle to various international markets from its Oragadam based facility. And the information has been disclosed to reporters by Renault India's Managing Director, Marc Nassif who came to participate in the three-day conference "Auto Serve" organized by CII. He said, "We will start exports of Duster. The first shipment will begin much soon to the UK..."

Renault will be the third automaker following Mahindra and Tata to export Sport Utility Vehicle to international markets. Nassif further said that,"globally whatever Renault wants, it will come from Chennai", which means the all the right hand driven markets will get the India made products. Clarifying that the product to exported from India will be different from what we have in India, he further says, "Our priority is Indian market. Products we are exporting will be a different one. The product what we will be exporting to the UK will be a different one. It will completely be different (to the UK market), but it will be sold as Duster brand."
When reporters asked him about the benefits of exporting the made in India (Oragadam) Dusters, he said, "it is obviously scaling the operations. It is a actually a huge activity for us. It helps us when you share the cake with your vendors. It is easier also to have more stable activity on our plans". He also said that the company is also planning to export the Duster to other markets as well including Western Africa, South Africa, Malaysia and Singapore, which will start step by step.
