Limited Edition Fiat 500 America Merchandised on twitter for €15,165 through TwitBid

In February Fiat Auto unveiled the new limited edition version of Fiat 500 America at the Geneva Motor Show. The car was later launched on the promotional campaign called the TwitBid and the first Fiat 500 America was auctioned through it. Fiat Auto revealed that they received 800 bids from 293 Twitter users from different 11 countries in which Mr. Adelheid D. Kieper, from Rosche, Germany with a twitter account named as @KanzleiKieper secured the first exclusive Fiat 500 America with a bid of €15,165 ($19,400).
Fiat is the first automobile manufacturer to auction cars via Twitter. Only 500 cars of the Fiat 500 America will be manufactured and anyone having an account on twitter can purchase the car by bidding online. One just has to register on www.500america.fiat500.com and can participate in the bidding process. The bidding started from March 1st and the highest bidder till March 15th got the car. Every €1 increase in the bid is informed via tweet.
Visitors of the Geneva Motor Show will also have the chance to follow the bids on screen next to Fiat 500 America. Fiat 500 America has a special decals, American flag mirror covers, 16” alloy wheels and a unique “American blue” paintwork. The car comprises of a multi-award-winning TwinAir petrol engine which provides 69 hp power and a mileage of 5.1L/100km. The first car also bears a badge of serial number ‘1/500’.
The interior of the car is highly inspired by the American iconography with red/ivory seats and contrasting white dashboard. The car was first launch in July 2007 and thereafter won 40 awards and the prestigious 5 star EuroNCAP at the international level and since then it has proved to be a authentic icon car with innovative technology which is made in Italy.Fiat 500 Limited Edition US has been put on twitter auction for the purpose of promotion of the car globally. Fiat 500 is being sold in 110 countries in the world and more than 800, 000 units have been sold since 2007.
