JLR eyes semi-metros, to open dealership in Pune by December
Jaguar Land Rover is eyeing semi-metro cities to popularize JLR brand among Indians. The attempt was evident from a recent deal for opening a dealership of Jaguar Land Rover in Pune. The exotic JLR showroom which is yet to open in December will be in close proximity to BMW showroom, another stalwart in luxury cars. A total of 12 luxury cars belonging to Jaguar and Land Rover brand will be displayed in the stand alone showroom of Pune.

Jaguar cars start at a jaw-dropping price tag of Rs 59.65 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) whereas Land Rover cars start at Rs 33 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). These are in line with Mercedes E-Class, BMW 5 Series and Audi A6. Customers in cities of Maharashtra, other than Mumbai, will now have a greater choice offered to them in luxury segment. The most probable customers in the region are industrialist, agriculturists and politicians.

While Jaguar is offering sedans like Jaguar XF Jaguar XJ Jaguar XK and Jaguar XKR, Land Rover is doling out SUVs like Land Rover Discovery, Land Rover Freelander and Land Rover Range Rover series. With so many offerings Pune and the towns and cities nearby will also see a rise in the purchase of high-end cars. There are about 30 Jaguar cars and 40 Land Rover cars running on the roads of Pune. With the new dealership of JLR coming up in the city, this number can transform to a double within a year’s span. However, Parvinder Singh Vijan who has bagged this dealership denied commenting on the prospects of new showroom in the absence of any official announcement by the company.
