Jaguar to come-up with plug-in hybrid diesel cars by 2013

Jaguar Cars, a British subsidiary of India's leading car maker Tata Motors, is planning to launch plug-in hybrid variants of its popular diesel cars in India, including Jaguar XJ and XK by year 2013-14. It is to be mentioned here that Tata Motors' another another British subsidiary Land Rover had recently announced that it is planning to develop new diesel-hybrid cars possibly for the Indian market.

Jaguar Cars, a British subsidiary of India's leading car maker Tata Motors, is planning to launch plug-in hybrid variants of its popular diesel cars in India, including Jaguar XJ and XK by year 2013-14. It is to be mentioned here that Tata Motors' another another British subsidiary Land Rover had recently announced that it is planning to develop new diesel-hybrid cars possibly for the Indian market.

The company is aiming to to reach a range of 20 miles at electric power along with a considerably low CO2 emission at 100 g/km and the maximum speed of around 120 mile/hour.

The Jaguar Land Rover engineering center in the British Midlands is reported to be developing an electric-hybrid diesel engine, which will be used in diesel models of both of the companies, including Jagaur's XJ, XK and XF and Land Rover's Range Rover, Range Rover Sports and Discovery models. Both Jaguar and Land Rover had showcased their range of vehicles at a shared platform at Delhi International Auto-Expo, held at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, in January this year, where they attracted a large number of car enthusiasts and visitors.
