Jaguar F-Pace to debut in September

Update: Legendary automaker Jaguar finally provided a full look at the company's first ever SUV, F-Pace at the 2016 Indian Auto Expo. Expected to launch in the second half of the year, Jaguar F-Pace will be taking on some powerful names in its segment including BMW X5, Volvo XC90 and Audi Q7. Jaguar F-Pace has a muscular appearance on the rear portion while the vehicle is the third product to come out as a result of the company's light aluminum architecture. Jaguar's first-ever Sports Utility Vehicle, the F-Pace, will be making its global debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September, confirms firm's global brand director- Steven de Ploey.

The F-Pace is in the final near-production-ready stage and has already been caught on camera several times. Referred as a 'sports crossover' from the British marque, it is basically a production derivative of the C-X17 concept, displayed at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show. The size and dimensions are said to be near identical to the concept, which is 4.72 m in length, a good 400mm longer than a Range Rover Evoque.

The F-Pace will be underpinned on an all-new advanced lightweight aluminum platform, the iQ[Al], which recently debuted in the 2017 XE sedan. The new platform is a light and stiff version of the sister brand- Land Rover's Premium Lightweight Architecture.

The standard powertrains on the F-Pace will include Jaguar's ‘Ingenium' range of turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinders, and likely the carmaker's supercharged 340bhp-3.0-litre V-6 for the upper F-Pace S variant. There is also a chance that the supercharged 550bhp-5.0-litre V8, that's used in many of brand's high-performance models will also make it into the range-topping SVR version

To arrive sometime during the year-end or in early 2016, the F-Pace will take on the likes of the BMW X4 and Porsche Macan in the premium crossover segment. It will be produced at the Jaguar Land Rover's Solihull plant.
