Hyundai's non-political worker's union gets recognised
Like Maruti Suzuki India, Hyundai India also seems to be under pressure from union related concerns. However, unlike India’s leading car manufacturer, Hyundai India called for a truce. The second largest car manufacturer in the country has today approved the plea from Hyundai’s very own employee union and recognised the body which calls themselves proudly ‘union only by Hyundai Employees for Hyundai Employees’. The auto major has simply cast away the request for the formation of any other group backed by the CITU (Center for Indian Trade Union) involving any political influence. Hyundai seems to be content with their employee union within the company and was bashful in letting their opinion known.

While the uncertainty on the union front has resolved today, there is some ambiguous piece of information with the Hyundai’s Korean subsidiary. Hyundai might or might not bring Kia Motors to India in form of Kia Picanto, but that doesn’t stop one from speculating. Kia Picanto famously known as Kia Morning in the home country, is known to share huge resemblance with Hyundai i10. On the other hand, the lack of diesel variants in the entry level hatchback segment seems to be a constant cause of worry for Hyundai Motors. Hyundai India offers four hatchbacks in the over tight hatchback segment including the latest entrant Hyundai Eon. But Hyundai India is not the one to sit back and relax. The Hyundai i10 is a successful hatchback and every one of ten cars that pass by is bound to be the i10. But the dipping sales of the car has made the auto major to consider an i10 LPG variant to save its face. A Hyundai i10 LPG with a price increase of around Rs 27,630 was launched at Rs 4.16 lakhs.
