Hyundai Venue iMT Launched At Rs 10 Lakh, Gets New Sport Trim

The clutch-by-wire system adds a premium of up to Rs 24,000 over the corresponding manual variants

• The 1.0-litre turbo-petrol variant of the Venue gets a new first-in-segment 6-speed manual transmission without a clutch pedal.

• It is offered on the SX and SX(O) variants for a relatively small premium compared to the 7-speed DCT options.

• Hyundai has added a new Sport Trim package with turbo iMT and DCT, and diesel  powertrain options for the SX and SX(O) variants at a premium of up to Rs 31,000.

• Venue also gets a new S+ variant with the 1.2-litre petrol engine priced at Rs 8.32 lakh.

The Hyundai Venue now gets the option of the new 6-speed Intelligent Manual Transmission (iMT) which doesn’t have a clutch pedal anymore. It is only offered with the 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine of the Venue and is a mid-way option between the 6-speed manual and the 7-speed dual-clutch automatic. The new iMT option is being offered on two variants of the Venue:

The Venue also gets a new Sport Trim package from the SX trim onwards. It is offered on the iMT and DCT petrol powertrains as well as the diesel engine options. The Sport Trim cosmetic package gets the following updates:

Exterior: New dual-tone grey paint with black roof, SPORT badge, red brake calipers, front bumper garnish and red inserts in the gloss black grille, roof rail, wheel arches and side mouldings.

Interior: Dark grey upholstery, metal pedals, sportier steering wheel, paddle shifters (DCT only) and red accents on the knobs, door trim, upholstery and steering.

The Hyundai Venue also gets a new S+ variant with the 1.2-litre petrol engine mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. This variant is priced at Rs 8.32 lakh and adds features such as an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, LED tail lamps, projector headlamps and fog lamps for a premium of Rs 92,000 over the S variant.

The Venue's sibling rival, the Kia Sonet, will also be featuring the new iMT option at launch and is due to be unveiled soon.
