Hyundai Creta And Kia Seltos Rivaling Skoda Kushaq Set To Launch Tomorrow

Skoda is all set to enter the compact SUV segment tomorrow with the Kushaq SUV. It will rival the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Nissan Kicks, Renault Duster, and the upcoming Volkswagen Taigun.
Bookings are underway for a token amount of Rs 25,000. Deliveries of the 1.0-litre turbo-petrol variants will commence tomorrow itself, while the 1.5-litre variants will be delivered from the first week of August 2021.
It will be available in three trims: Active, Ambition, and Style. While the 1.0-litre engine will be available on all the variants, the bigger engine will be exclusive to the top-end Style.
The Skoda Kushaq will be powered by 115PS/178Nm 1.0-litre and 150PS/250Nm 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engines. While a 6-speed manual transmission is standard for both, the 1.0-litre engine gets an optional 6-speed torque converter while the bigger unit gets a 7-speed DSG (dual-clutch automatic).
The Skoda Kushaq features 10-inch touchscreen infotainment with connected car technology, automatic LED headlamps, front ventilated seats, a two-spoke steering wheel, ambient lighting, electric sunroof, wireless charging, and cruise control. Safety is covered by up to six airbags, electronic stability control (standard), multi-collision braking, hill-hold control, rear parking sensors, tyre pressure monitoring system, and a rear parking camera.

We expect Skoda to price the Kushaq between Rs 10 lakh and Rs 17 lakh (ex-showroom). It will compete with the Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki S-Cross, Hyundai Creta, Renault Duster, Nissan Kicks, and Volkswagen Taigun.
