Honda Siel Cars India sells 3455 units in June 2011
Honda Siel Cars India (HSCI), leading manufacturer of premium cars in India reported sales of 3,455 units during the month of June 2011 as against 2,334 units sold during May 2011 posting a growth of 48%.

Commenting on the company’s sales volumes Mr. Jnaneswar Sen, Sr. Vice President, Sales Marketing said, “We have been working with production constraints for the last few months. However, recovery efforts are going on to increasingly meet the demand which has helped us improve our sales in June 2011. Sales of our largest selling model Honda City is back on an upswing, posting a growth of 53% from last month”.

The company sold 4,595 units in June 2010. Model wise sales break-up: Honda Jazz 361units sold ; Honda City: 2802 units sold ; Honda Civic:175units sold ; Honda Accord: 103units sold ; Honda CR-V: 14 units sold.

The company recently slashed the prices of its popular saloon Honda City upto Rs66,000. The company took this step in order to uplift the sales volume of its popular sedan which seems to be fading with other sedan cars doing well. It was reported earlier that Honda City is losing its grip in the market, cars like Volkswagen Vento have acquired major market share. Honda India is also mulling to give a facelift to Honda City, not only this but it is also being speculated that the company is also working towards the diesel version of the popular sedan.
