Honda City facelift expected to come by November 3rd week
According to one of our close sources, Honda India is gearing up to launch the new Honda City in the third week of November . The same Honda City facelift model was introduced in the month of September in Thailand car market. 2012 Honda City will however miss the festival season sales with its launch slated post Diwali. Nevertheless, the auto major will benefit in clearing up the outgoing Honda City sedan models with the peak sales during the Diwali season.

As a part of heavy marketing plans to boost the Honda City sales, the car manufacturer is offering up to one lakh discount on the present models. Honda India recently launched its cheapest car Honda Brio in petrol variant alone to target the low-cost hatchback segment in the Indian car market. Furthermore, the small car is reported to bag 5000 bookings within few weeks after the launch. Apart from this, Honda India had also launched the revamped Honda Jazz with Rs 1.5 lakh cash discount to ramp up its sales in the month of August.

On the negative side, the auto major is said to face a major component supply constraints due to the latest natural calamity in Thailand. The Indian manufacturing facility produces models like Honda Jazz, Honda Brio and Honda City using the components supplied from Honda’s Thailand plant. The available components are believed to last until the month end to carry on the operations. Therefore, the company will have to resort to alternative plans to keep up with the production.
