While Honda was busy with the launch of its MPV Mobilio, the demand of Honda City surged to a new high. As per the latest information available, Honda City now attracts a waiting period of six to eight months (depending on the variant and city). Even the top-end variant of Honda City priced at Rs 11,05,500 (Ex Showroom, Delhi) is under high demand. As per the sales figure of June, Honda has outpaced the homegrown manufacturer Mahindra and Mahindra to occupy the third spot lagging only to Hyundai India and Maruti Suzuki. The company’s fortunes turned when it introduced the diesel engine with Honda Amaze which was then repeated in the City. The revolutionary 1.5-litre i-DTEC engine in Honda City delivers an astonishing fuel economy of 26kmpl, highest in the segment.

Honda City on the safety front offers ABS, EBD and drivers airbag as standard features. The interiors comes equipped with features such as Smart key, Pinch guard, Cruise control, Rear parking camera along with 5 inch touchscreen infotainment system that comes with USB, AUX and Bluetooth connectivity. Additionally, sophisticated features like Touch panel for AC, Push Button start and Sunroof further graces the sedan with their presence.

Honda City is powered by 1.5-litre i-VTEC mill which develops a decent power output of 117bhp at 6600rpm and a peak torque of 145Nm at 4600rpm. It is being presented with two transmission options, either a CVT automatic gearbox or a 5-speed manual transmission. Moreover, the cherished 1.5-litre i-DTEC engine generates a power of 98.6bhp at 3600rpm and a peak torque of 200Nm at 1750rpm. It is coupled to a 6-speed manual gearbox.

It is seen that the old City owners are also updating their cars by opting for new Honda City and to our surprise, even the SUV owners are now shifting towards Honda City. With the brand name of Honda, City is definitely a sound choice in the growing C segment.
