Ford India to introduce eight car models in India

Ford Motors India is enjoying great demand for its cars in India and to enhance the growth the American auto giant will launch eight new car models. It was reported by a senior official from the auto company that by 2015 Ford will introduce eight new cars in the domestic auto market.

Anurag Mehrotra, Vice-President (Marketing), Ford India, said that the company registered its best sales performance in January 2011. Ford India rolled more than 10,000 cars in January and is looking to introduce eight car models in the coming four years. Other than this, the auto company is looking forward to expand its network across India by employing 30 or more dealers adding on its current 170 dealers.

Ford India rolled out 83887 cars in 2010 compared to 29488 units in 2009, which is a huge hike in terms of sales in last 15 years. Mr Mehrotra said that Ford India rolled out 10,026 cars in January 2011,compared to 2,453 cars in the same month in 2010. He also revealed that Gujarat is the fastest growing auto market domestically in the Western region, it accounted for 28 per cent of the accumulated sales for Ford.
