Ford India repeats history with EcoSport

Ford India is reiterating what happened with the Figo – EcoSport took home plenty of awards just like Figo did when it was introduced back in 2010-11. EcoSport launched in June last year and since than the compact SUV is bringing laurels to the company beating its biggest rival, Renault Duster whether it comes to sales or features. The waiting period of the compact SUV was just rolling up initially but now the company is trying hard to reduce the waiting period. On the official Indian Ford site they state ' India's most awarded vehicle is a Ford – yet again'.

Ford Ecosport

The Ford's lil' baby SUV, EcoSport is coveted with plenty of awards from the auto world. It bagged 18 awards for the prestigious – 'Car/SUV of the year', the compact SUV also bagged 4 awards for the 'technology' (no doubt EcoBoost is at its best!). The vehicle got 6 'Viewer's/Reader's choice awards'. It also clinched 'Launch of the year' award and a 'Value for money' award. In a nutshell, the 'Blue oval' got 30 awards, and the company is gloating on the site – '30 AWARDS & COUNTING'.

After the Figo launch and success, Ford is taking India seriously as a profitable and volume gainer market. The company got pretty active after the Figo launch and introduced EcoSport & global Fiesta. The nex-gen Figo compact sedan is in pipeline for the American company plus the Figo hatchback (which will be Ford Ka worldwide - sticking to the promise of 'One Ford') based on this compact sedan concept they showed at the Auto Expo last month. If speculation are to be believed, Ford is also planning to bring an MPV based on the nex-gen Figo platform plus a facelifted Fiesta sedan launch is also around the corner. Cheers to Ford!!
