Fiat Punto Abarth Evo EsseEsse Spotted in India
CarDekho has been amongst the first ones to scoop about Fiat's plans of launching the high performance Punto Abarth Evo hatchback in India this year. And now guys at Team-BHP has spotted the Punto Abarth Evo EsseEsse version of the car doing test runs in Coimbatore.
Expected to launch in June this year, the Punto Abarth Evo will be powered by a 1.4-litre T-Je turbo petrol engine used by the Fiat Linea T-Jet. However, an upgraded version of the same should power the Punto Abarth hatch, possibly generating 152bhp.
The mighty 1.4-litre engine mill is likely to come mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox, making the vehicle a fun to drive. The spotted vehicle in Coimbatore is a two-door version, something that we see in international version as well, so we aren't sure whether it will be come as a CBU or CKD. In India a four-door version would make more sense as of now.
The spotted car was sporting EsseEsse and Evo Logos, clearing that it is the high-performance version of the Punto Abarth, which is even more powerful to that of the Abarth Evo. The car is expected to touch the 0-96kmph in 7.5 seconds and a peak speed of around 210kmph. The tweaked suspension on the EsseEsse has the revised Abarth Springs, Koni dampers and Brembo discs on it.
