The luxury car maker Porsche’s CEO Mr. Matthias Muller has recently mentioned that the company’s plans of introducing an inexpensive, small entry level model have been scraped. This means that the Indian car market will not get to witness the baby version of the Porsche Boxter. Mr. Muller stated to a German Magazine that dropping the idea of a cheaper and small model would not be productive for the company as it would dilute the brand and would also estrange the traditional customers of the brand, who buy Porsche not only for superb performance but also for the prestige and status it brings.

This interest of developing a small and mid-engine sports car was brought to surface by this German auto giant in the last year. This planned small car was supposed to emerge as the heir of 1950s model of Porsche 550. The prospective launch was decided to happen in the early 2014 but it no longer holds any significance.

From this latest news we could draw an inference that the launch of the Pajun model might not be deferred till 2017. The company now is in no hurry to build the smaller variant of Panamera and is free to rethink the entire notion after a few years and might as well turn it into a reality in 5 or 6 years.
