Energy efficiency labelling is a must by August
Energy efficiency labelling will be a must by August in India that will enable customers to have a choice. Generally any auto company use energy in the country. H.S. Brahma, India's power secretary told media persons that the labelling will be mandatory for automobiles by August. The move is to help energy conservation. This will help consumers in choosing the right quality of vehicle.

Many automobile producers say their car can give an average of 18 kilometres or 20 kilometres a litre, he said. Maruti Suzuki India Ltd, 54.2 percent owned by Japan's Suzuki Motor Corp and the country's biggest car maker, has already showed interest in the process, he said adding the government would initiate dialogue with auto companies.
