It’s evident that BMW India launched the BMW 3 Series Gran Turismo at the recently over 2014 Auto Expo. That time, the company expected the deliveries to start by March. Now, proving it to be true, the first locally assembled 3 Series Gt has been rolled out from the Mahindra World City plant based in Sinaperumal Koil, Chennai. Those who booked around the launch or beyond, will soon enjoy a ride for Rs.42.75 lakh(all India ex-showroom).

The BMW 3 Series GT comes with a larger wheelbase by 110mm, and an overall length to be 200mm, a bit more than the existing sedan. Besides, the Gran Turismo equips a coupe-style roof-line along with a flowing rear end with large boot, meaning that the dimensions of this newly rolled out sedan are greater than the standard version. The new 3 Series GT has been composed with an increased height by 81mm, which makes a fine distinction with the old sedan.

With larger headlamps as well as grille, the 3 Series GT sports frameless side windows and an automated spoiler at the rear, which functions over a speed of 110kmph and pauses when the car travels below 70kmph.

A fact to note here is that only the 320D variant of the sedan is available in India, which houses a 2.0L, inline-six engine capable of producing 184bhp of power, and 380Nm of torque. The powertrain of the 3 Series GT is mated to a ZF sourced 8-speed automatic gearbox. The sedan is rear-wheel driven machine, and finally would be available to own from your nearby dealerships.
