The German auto major is expecting a sales growth of only 20 percent this year in the Indian automotive market due to the uncertain economic conditions of the country, and slower demand of the cars at the same time. The company has registered a sales growth of 45 percent in the last fiscal year, but it has speculated a low increase for this year. BWM Group India President, Andreas Schaaf reported that the Indian market is a bit slow because of the fragile economic environment prevailing in the country. The rise in the price of petrol, hike in the excise and import duty has impacted the demands of the consumers that made this year the most difficult year of the company so far.

The recently surfaced grapevines suggest that the German auto giant, Bavarian Motor Works is pondering over broadening the X range of crossovers. Reportedly the company is probable to introduce BMW X7 and BMW X8 crossovers to rival the likes of upcoming Bentley SUV and Lamborghini Urus. The proposed BMW X7 is expected to be a top-class luxury SUV which would use the modular platform of X5 and would be positioned above it. The car would be infused with the luxury element of the BMW 7-series; it would also borrow other materials and technology from the same. The fusion of BMW X5 and 7-series would result into an impeccable luxury Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV) for the future which would right way contend against the new SUV from Bentley, Range Rover and Lamborghini Urus.
