Coagent Electronics explores opportunities in India
Sensing immense business opportunities in the growing automobile market in India, the Chinese automotive accessories company Coagent Electronic S&T Co Ltd has also showed an interest in supplying car infotainment products to auto majors in India. As per the information available on the company website, Coagent Electronics S&T Co. Ltd, a Foshan (China) based company was founded in 1998 and is into research and development in the manufacturing and sales of the automobile navigation systems, anti-theft system, control system, car information systems, safety systems.

With over 2000 employees and five production units, it produces 1 million sets. The company currently provides accessories for many cars including Toyota, Honda, Nissan, Mitshuishi, Suzuki besides Audi, Opel, Renault and Fiat.
The company is also said to have established corporate communication with many auto giants in India such as General Motors, Hyundai for the supply of the products.
The Indian agent of the Chinese company is also said to have contacted car companies in India for a tie-up especially for the Reddrive Smart series products that the company makes. The company is said to have expressed interest in developing tailor made equipments as per the needs of the automobile companies.
Besides supplying accessories in India, the company is also reportedly thinking on establishing an assembly line in India. Other than the Reddrive Smart Series the company also produces audio-video entertainment devices besides GPS navigation and the company is said to be soon launching a 3G based internet device for enabling internet connectivity while on the move, said sources.
