Chevrolet Enjoy MPV Rumoured to be Priced Lesser than Maruti Ertiga
Premiered first at the 2012 Indian auto expo, the Chevrolet Enjoy MPV is finally making its debut on April 9, 2013, and will compete against the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, which has been doing superb for its maker in the country. Now if rumours are to be believed, the Enjoy MPV could be priced even lesser to that of the Ertiga. And if it happens, the Enjoy MPV will be a great value for money product. FYI, the Ertiga is priced in the range of Rs 5.99 lakh- 8.71 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
Now we'll talk about the features and functions the Enjoy has to offer to its buyers. Coming both in the petrol and diesel motors, the Enjoy MPV will have a 1.4-litre petrol and Fiat's 1.3-litre Multijet (Co-developed by GM) respectively. While the 1.4-litre petrol mill is capable of producing the maximum power output of 103bhp and 127Nm of torque; the 1.3-litre Multijet returns 77bhp and 200Nm. The transmission to be offered will be a five-speed manual for both diesel and petrol versions. Ertiga too uses the similar engine, however MSI has installed the turbocharger, which make the engine more powerful.
The upcoming Chevrolet Enjoy MPV is expected to come both in the 7 and 8-seat versions. While the 7-seater Enjoy MPV will have 4 captain seats and bench styled third row, the 8-seater will have two captain seats and third row seats in bench. The latter version has been possibly built for the commercial purpose, as high mileage and 8-seats make more sense for taxi purpose.
In terms of appearance, the Enjoy MPV doesn't look as good as the Ertiga, although spaciousness and the engine options under the hood make it a worthy choice. It's the pricing which could play a major role in deciding the future of the car. And we can hope its price to be very competitive, as we have seen GM pricing the Sail Sedan and hatchback quite affordable.
