Audi to launch Q5 on June 4
Audi's Q5 will hit Indian roads on June 4th. It is expected that the base model would be priced at Rs 37.5 lakh. The top end model will have the price tag starting from Rs 45 lakh. The car will compete with BMW X3 in India. With the launch of Q5 in the Indian market, it intends to take the competition head-on with the two popular luxury brands-Mercedes E-Class and BMW 5 series. The company had already launched A6 at the price of Rs 36 lakh.

Audi on Friday said it expected a 55 per cent growth this fiscal from the Indian market and was targeting a sale of 1,500 cars. Audi India Managing Director Benoit Tiers told reporters on the sidelines of unveiling of country's first terminal showroom that While in Europe, the US, Japan and Spain, about 25-50 per cent market had declined, Indian market was growing, he said. From the Kerala market, it expects to sell 80 cars till December and 25 had already been sold. About 1,000 cars are being manufactured at Audi's Aurangabad plant, where it has invested about 30 million euro. Audi has nine dealerships in India and three -- at Ludhiana, Chennai and Delhi -- would be added by the year end.
