The high demand from the consumers’ side has shocked even the high apex industry body, SIAM- Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers. This has compelled SIAM for revising its projections for the present financial year to eighteen-twenty per cent total  growth. In this overall growth, the cars are growing at the fastest speed of twenty-twenty three per cent whereas the  two wheelers are growing at seventeen- nineteen per cent.

Pawan Goenka, president, SIAM who also heads the country’s largest tractor and utility vehicle maker Mahindra and Mahindra commented that the performance has been much better than what the company was actually targeting in the month of August. The initial half of the present financial year displayed the climax with the best ever September sales at more than 1.3 million units. On the other hand, the two wheelers account for more then seventy six per cent of the total industry volumes. These two wheelers  grew at a good and appreciable twenty per cent to more than a million units in this. It was their highest record till now.
