For existing CNG vehicle owners, and anyone considering buying one, the shift is designed to be barely noticeable. Officials have been clear that no vehicle changes will be needed. Since Bio-CNG's chemical profile matches natural gas, current CNG vehicles will be able to run on the blended fuel without any modification to the engine, tank, or refuelling hardware. You'll fill up at the same stations, and performance should stay unchanged.
All the transition work happens upstream, within the gas distribution system itself, sparing consumers the kind of uncertainty that's followed the E20 rollout.
